How this zakat estimate works
Net wealth = cash, gold, silver, investments, and receivables, minus debts. If net wealth is at least the nisab, zakat is 2.5% (one-fortieth). Many households in Pakistan and Saudi Arabia use the silver nisab because it is the lower threshold.
- Silver nisab used here: 612.36 grams.
- Gold nisab used here: 87.48 grams.
- Wealth is generally zakatable after it has been held for one lunar year (hawl). This page does not track dates for you.
Personal-use home, car, and clothes are usually excluded. Business stock and savings are usually included. Rules differ by school of thought — treat the result as a starting figure, not a fatwa.
